As part of the BJP’s intensified outreach to tribal communities ahead of next year’s ADC election, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed a large public rally in Takarjala on Sunday. The event, organised by the Takarjala BJP Mandal, took place at the Takarjala HS School playground and saw a strong turnout of supporters from nearby areas.
The rally was attended by several senior party leaders, including BJP state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, Sipahijala North Zone secretary Biplab Chakraborty, Mandai Mandal president Abhijeet Debbarma, Golaghati Mandal president Naryan Debnath, and Takarjala Mandal president Nirmal Debbarma, who played a key role in coordinating the programme.

42 Families Join BJP at Takarjala Rally
Before the speeches began, the event saw a major political development. A total of 135 tribal voters from 42 families formally joined the BJP. These new members received the party flag from the Chief Minister and other top leaders. The joining ceremony added momentum to the BJP’s tribal outreach campaign and set the tone for the rally.
CM Highlights Development Under BJP Government
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha urged the tribal population to support the BJP, stating that the party is committed to fulfilling their long-standing aspirations. He criticised the previous Left Front government for what he called “decades of slogans without development.”
“During the long Left rule, you only heard promises and catchy slogans. Real development in interior tribal areas began only after the BJP came to power in Tripura,” he said. He added that joining the BJP would allow tribal citizens to participate in the state’s development and upliftment process.
Dr. Saha sharply attacked the CPI(M) and Congress for their “negative politics,” asserting that these parties would neither regain power nor contribute to the progress of tribal communities. “These parties have failed the people. They will never work for your welfare,” he stated.
CM Links Bihar Mandate With BJP’s Governance Model
During his speech, Dr. Saha also referred to the recent Bihar election results, where the NDA secured a strong mandate. He said that the people of Bihar supported the BJP and its allies because they trust the party’s ability to deliver on its promises.
“I campaigned in Bihar and will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new NDA government. The people voted for us because they have faith in our work and our commitment to public welfare,” he said.
BJP Reiterates Commitment to Tribal Welfare
The Chief Minister highlighted several schemes implemented by the Tripura government for the welfare of tribal communities, including infrastructure upgrades, cultural preservation efforts, and social development initiatives.
He emphasised that the state government continues to allocate funds to the Autonomous District Council (ADC) based on their demands. However, he criticised the current ADC administration for not utilising these funds effectively.
“We have always supported the ADC. But look at their performance—they are not doing enough for the people. We will strengthen the ADC and make it a truly effective body for tribal development,” Dr. Saha assured the crowd.
He also pointed out various initiatives taken by the BJP government to honour tribal traditions and promote indigenous cultural heritage. Dr. Saha reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring holistic development across all ADC areas without discrimination.
Momentum Builds Ahead of ADC Polls
The Takarjala rally reflects the BJP’s strategy to consolidate tribal support before the ADC elections. With new families joining the party and senior leaders intensifying outreach, the BJP aims to expand its influence in key tribal regions.
