The Charles Walters Council for Innovation & Research (CWCIR) has unveiled the Honour of Ashoka Award, an esteemed recognition designed to celebrate outstanding contributions to public administration. This prestigious honor is dedicated to bureaucrats and policymakers who have played a transformative role in governance, law enforcement, and leadership.
Beyond its ceremonial significance, the Honour of Ashoka Award seeks to establish a national benchmark for excellence in administration. CWCIR, a pioneering institution registered under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has been a driving force behind scientific research and technological innovation in India. Under the visionary leadership of Abhishek Pandey, an academician with expertise in Chemistry and English, the Council has championed advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, emotional intelligence, and neuro-linguistics. By mentoring young innovators and guiding them through research and patent processes, the organization plays a crucial role in nurturing the country’s future scientific and administrative leaders.
Pandey’s contributions to education and research have earned him widespread recognition, including accolades from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Law Minister, the Governor, and the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. His leadership in establishing the Honour of Ashoka Award has drawn attention from the Defence Minister of India, while his advocacy for Indian Teaching Services (ITS) has been praised by the Education Minister. Furthermore, his initiative in providing self-defense training to girls across 13 states has received commendations from the Home Minister of India, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, and NSA Shri Ajit Doval.
The award ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities from governance, defense, and academia. Notable attendees included Gen. JJ Singh (Former Army Chief & Former Governor of Arunachal Pradesh), Shri Shekhar Dutt (Retd IAS, Former Deputy NSA, Defence Secretary & Governor of Chhattisgarh), General Deepak Kapoor (Former Chief of Army Staff), Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar (National Science Chair, JNU), Shri Subodh Kant Sahay (Former Cabinet Minister), Shri Saurabh Tiwari (Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat of India), Acharya Lokesh Muni, Dr. Sandeep Marwah (Chancellor, AAFT), and Lt Gen AB Shivane.
Adding to the event’s significance was the presence of Justice BP Singh, former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court and Supreme Court Judge, as well as Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan, former Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, alongside several Supreme Court judges.
