A delegation of Bidhan Shishu Udyan merit search made a deputation to the Education Commissioner demanding infrastructure development to build kitchen gardens in all schools of the state.
The delegation made a deputation to Elementary Education Officer Bimbisa Bhattacharya on Thursday. The Education Commissioner agreed with the demands and assured the delegates that effective action would be taken Although eight hundred and two schools in the state have kitchen gardens, the Education Department has no cell to look after them.
In this regard Manoj Roy, State Convenor of Merit Search, was earlier given the task of developing kitchen gardens in five schools along with teaching on an experimental basis. But state convener Manoj Roy said that this deputation is for the demand of cell formation in the case of creating infrastructure for making kitchen gardens in the rest of the villages.
