The Founder and President of Tripura People’s Front (TPF) and BJP State Vice President Miss Patal Kanya Jamatia faced road blockage in Shyamnagar Village at Jampuijala on 21 May 2022, Saturday.
According to the source, a group of women gathered and blocked the road in Shyamnagar protesting against Miss P.K Jamatia concerning her promises about the NRC case. The Protestants raised the question about the funds collected by Miss P.K Jamatia in the name of the NRC case in Delhi and asked her to return those funds to the public. After pledging to work for the welfare of the Indigenous People of Tripura, Miss Patal Kanya Jamatia broke her pledge and stole public money through her fake commitments, said the Protestants. Instead of working for the development and welfare of the people, Miss P.K Jamatia is dividing the Indigenous people and confusing the people with her false agendas, they added.
The issue of making a dumping area in Makarai Village, the brutal murder of the Late Biswajit Debbarma in a brought daylight at Panisagar, and the unsolved cases of rapes of the Indigenous girls and women in different parts of the state were highlighted by the protestants and said that these cases are being neglected. The protestants asked the government of Tripura to look into these matters and take proper actions against the culprits.
The peaceful road blockage took a turn and went violent as the situation became tense later the police had to step up and charge the situation and brought them under control.
