Johni Debbarma, from Hokutwisa, Dhalai Tripura (son of Tarini Debbarma and Jahnabi Debbarma) has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Sciences on 21st June 2022 by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Ghaziabad, India for his thesis entitled, “Expression analysis, cell biology and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing of XSP10 and SlSAMT genes for Fusarium wilt disease tolerance in Solanum Lycopersicum L.’’.
He has completed his research work under the supervision of Dr C. Chikkaputtaiah, Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Assam. He has published 7 research articles and book chapters in reputed peer-reviewed International Journals. He has received a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Botany from Assam University, Silchar.
