Kailashahar, Tripura – November 30, 2023 – The Tripura government has announced the development of an Integrated Aqua Park at Kailashahar, the district headquarters of Unakoti district. The project will be implemented with an investment of Rs. 100 crore and is expected to be completed within three years.
A Boost for Fisheries and Tourism
The Integrated Aqua Park will be a first-of-its-kind facility in Tripura and will play a significant role in boosting the state’s fisheries and tourism sectors. The park will have a fish culture center, a fish processing unit, a cold storage facility, and a recreational zone.
Generating Employment Opportunities
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for the local community. Once operational, the Integrated Aqua Park is expected to create around 200 direct and indirect jobs.
Promoting Sustainable Fisheries
The Integrated Aqua Park will adopt sustainable fisheries practices, such as biofloc technology and recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), to minimize environmental impact. The park will also promote the use of eco-friendly fish feed and packaging materials.
Enhancing Livelihoods of Fishermen
The Integrated Aqua Park will provide training and support to fishermen to improve their skills and productivity. The park will also help fishermen to access markets and fair prices for their products.
A Step Towards Blue Revolution
The Integrated Aqua Park is a key initiative of the Tripura government’s Blue Revolution, which aims to transform the state’s fisheries sector and make it a major contributor to the state’s economy.
