IPS Officer Transferred Amid Misconduct Allegations at Guwahati Airport

An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Binod Kumar Singh, serving as the additional director general (ADG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for the Northeast zone, has been transferred back to his parent cadre following allegations of misconduct at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati, Assam.
Allegations Unveiled

The transfer came in the wake of a complaint filed by a female employee stationed at the LGBI airport, accusing Singh of attempting to hug her against her will.
Complaint Details

Utpal Baruah, the chief airport officer at LGBI, lodged a written complaint outlining the incident. According to the complaint, Singh persistently made inappropriate comments and gestures towards the female employee.
Alleged Behavior

The woman stated in her complaint that Singh stared at her, commented on her appearance, and pressured her to exchange contact information for future assistance.
Unwanted Advances

Despite her objections, Singh allegedly attempted to embrace her forcefully, leading her to resist and demand that he cease his advances.
Apology and Withdrawal

Following the complaint, Singh issued an apology during a WhatsApp call arranged by the chief airport officer. Subsequently, the woman decided to withdraw her complaint.
