There is good news for health services in Tripura. Labor room and Maternity OT at IGM Hospital in Agartala has been approved by the Union Ministry of Health. Clearance is granted for one year under the target programme.
In this regard, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Vishal Chauhan in a letter to the Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department of Tripura. Debashish explained the details to Basu. He wrote in the letter, the labor room and maternity OT in the IGM district hospital have met the quality standards. A score of 71 percent met four of the required 5 criteria. Hence, clearance is being granted for one year. Incidentally, the labor room and maternity OT of IGM Hospital were inspected on March 30 and 31 last.
The Union Joint Secretary feels that this achievement of Tripura will be of great help in the expansion of health services in the state. He hoped that Tripura government’s quality assurance unit would verify everything and submit a report to NHSRC.
