A shocking case of alleged domestic violence has emerged from the Harishnagar Munda Para area in Bishalgarh, where a man reportedly beat his wife to death in front of their two children.
Police have identified the accused as Lakshmindhar Munda, while the deceased woman has been identified as Moni Munda, also known as Rote. The incident has triggered outrage among residents in the locality.

Assault Began on Thursday Evening
According to local sources, the incident began on Thursday evening when Lakshmindhar Munda allegedly started assaulting his wife inside their house.
Neighbours soon heard loud arguments and rushed to the spot after learning about the disturbance. Several residents reportedly tried to intervene and calm the situation. However, the violence did not stop.
Witnesses said the assault continued for several hours during the night.
Woman Allegedly Attacked with Wooden Stick
Residents and family members alleged that Lakshmindhar brutally attacked his wife with a wooden stick. The assault reportedly took place in front of their children, which left the entire neighbourhood shocked.
As the attack continued, Moni Munda suffered severe injuries. However, the accused allegedly continued beating her despite repeated attempts by neighbours to stop him.
The relentless assault eventually led to her death.
Body Discovered on Friday Morning
On Friday morning, neighbours discovered a disturbing scene at the house. According to locals, they found Lakshmindhar Munda sitting beside his wife’s lifeless body.
The discovery quickly spread through the area and triggered anger among residents, who immediately informed the police.
Soon after receiving the information, personnel from Bishalgarh Police Station rushed to the spot and secured the area.
Police Arrest Accused Husband
Police detained Lakshmindhar Munda at the scene and later placed him under arrest.
Officers then recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators also began collecting statements from neighbours and other witnesses to understand the sequence of events.
Allegations of Frequent Domestic Violence
Residents of the locality claimed that Lakshmindhar often assaulted his wife during domestic disputes.
According to neighbours, frequent quarrels between the couple had raised concerns in the community earlier as well.
Based on these allegations, police suspect that prolonged domestic conflicts may have contributed to the tragic incident.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a detailed investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.
Officials said they will examine all available evidence, including witness statements and the post-mortem report.
Authorities are also looking into the couple’s past disputes to determine whether a pattern of domestic violence existed.
The incident has once again highlighted the serious issue of domestic violence and the need for timely intervention in such cases.
