Costing Rs 6 crore, the 30-bed Model Hospital in Sootea, initiated by CM Sarma when he was the state’s health minister in 2019, now stands as a testament to the government’s dedication to healthcare infrastructure. The hospital is poised to play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of the local community, providing essential medical services and contributing to a healthier society.

In the Chakighat locality of Tezpur, the newly inaugurated Tezpur Govt Law College, constructed at a cost of Rs 16 crore, represents a step forward in legal education in Assam. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art university is on the horizon in Gohpur, Biswanath district, showcasing the government’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities.

The Chief Minister didn’t stop at healthcare and legal education but also announced plans for an industrial center spanning approximately 35 bighas of land around Chakighat. This move aligns with the broader vision of fostering economic growth and development in the region.

CM Sarma, demonstrating his proactive approach, expressed a desire to embark on a bike ride after the completion of key infrastructure projects, including the state’s tunnel route from Numaligarh to Golaghat, the Kaziranga Flyover Bridge, and the Dibrugarh to Majuli road. These developments not only signify progress in connectivity but also contribute to the overall development and accessibility of various regions within Assam.

In a move to empower tea tribes and tribal students, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Tea Tribes and Tribal Students’ Hostel at Tyagbir Hem Barua College, Jamugurihat. Valued at Rs 88 lakh, this initiative aims to provide a conducive environment for higher education, ensuring that these communities have the support needed to pursue academic excellence.

The inauguration of the Model Hospital and Law College, along with ambitious plans for additional educational institutions, industrial centers, and infrastructure projects, reflects the state’s commitment to holistic development.
