Heavily armed militants attacked villages in Manipur’s Kamjong district near the India-Myanmar border on Thursday morning, torching several houses and forcing terrified residents to flee into nearby forests, officials said.
According to police, the militants targeted the Tangkhul Naga villages of Namlee, Wanglee, and Choro under the Kasom Khullen police station area around 4 am. Residents of the border settlements reportedly woke up to gunfire and chaos as armed men entered the villages and set houses ablaze.
