Mizoram achieved a major milestone in India’s floriculture export sector by exporting its first consignment of Anthurium flowers to Singapore on February 28, 2025. The consignment, consisting of 1,008 Anthurium cut flowers, was sourced from the Zo Anthurium Growers Cooperative Society in Aizawl. It was flagged off by APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) in collaboration with Mizoram’s Department of Horticulture. This marks a crucial step in expanding international markets for Indian floriculture products.
Mizoram’s First Anthurium Export to Singapore
The first Anthurium flower consignment from Mizoram to Singapore was exported by IVC Agrovet Pvt. Ltd via Kolkata by air and will be imported by Veg Pro Singapore Pte. Ltd. The flowers were meticulously packed in 50 corrugated boxes to maintain their freshness during transit.

This breakthrough in Mizoram’s floriculture exports is a direct outcome of the International Conclave and Buyer-Seller Meet organized by APEDA in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram on December 6, 2024, in Aizawl.
- The event saw participation from nine international buyers from countries including Singapore, UAE, Nepal, Jordan, Oman, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Ethiopia.
- Twenty-four domestic exporters also attended, fostering trade collaborations for Mizoram’s horticulture sector.
By connecting local flower growers with international buyers, the conclave played a pivotal role in securing Mizoram’s first floriculture export deal with Singapore.
