Monthly Pension for Poor in Tripura

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that under the “Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Yojana”, from next month 30,000 poor people of the state will get Rs.2000 per month.

In a meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was decided to launch a new scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Samajik Shayata Yojana scheme’ for the people.

Saha said that the cabinet has agreed to provide a pension to 30,000 new beneficiaries under this scheme. Now the people will get Rs.2000 monthly allowance from next month. He said that the cabinet has also approved a 15 percent increase in the expenditure required for paying salaries of Anganwadi workers, helpers, and ASHA workers from next month. A week ago, the state government had increased the 3.80 lakh beneficiaries of 30 social pensions from Rs.1000 to Rs.2000 per month.

Meanwhile, government spokesperson Sushant Chowdhury told the media that 9,175 posts, including the recruitment of 6,067 special executive posts, are about to be filled under the home department. They will be deployed to assist the police in all the police stations in rural and urban areas to ensure greater security for the people of the state. They have also decided to recruit 3,108 teachers the candidate who qualified for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
