Two-Month Illegal Stay Detected
Police officials said Kabil Anam had been staying in the area for nearly two months. He failed to produce valid travel documents or identity papers during initial questioning.
Investigators believe the accused entered the state without authorization. His stay violated immigration and security-related laws, prompting immediate legal action.
Case Registered, Probe Launched
Following the arrest, police registered a case under relevant legal provisions. Officers then launched a detailed investigation to trace the circumstances of his entry and stay.
The police aim to identify how the foreign national crossed into Indian territory. They are also verifying whether he used unauthorized routes or external assistance.
Court Appearance and Police Remand
On Saturday afternoon, police produced Kabil Anam before a local court. The investigating team sought police remand to conduct further interrogation.
Officials said custodial questioning is necessary to uncover crucial details. These include the route of entry, duration of movement, and contacts within the state.
Focus on Local Links and Support Network
Police suspect that local assistance may have helped the accused remain in the area. Investigators are examining whether individuals or groups provided shelter or logistical support.
Authorities are also probing the possibility of an organized network. Such networks often assist foreign nationals in illegal entry and prolonged stay.
Police Statement
Confirming the arrest, Amtali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Paritosh Das said the investigation remains active.
“We are examining every angle related to the accused’s entry and stay. We are also checking possible local involvement. More details will emerge as the probe progresses,” he said.
Heightened Vigil Across Tripura
The arrest comes amid increased surveillance across Tripura. Security agencies have intensified checks, especially in sensitive and border-adjacent areas.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order. They urged residents to report suspicious movements or unidentified individuals in their neighborhoods.
Authorities stated that strict action would follow if the investigation reveals wider security concerns. Further developments are expected in the coming days.
