Fresh tensions have erupted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pakistan Army launched continuous unprovoked firing on Indian positions and civilian areas. As per initial reports, 10 Indian nationals have lost their lives, including a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, while 30 others have sustained injuries in the heavy shelling.
The firing, which began early in the morning, targeted multiple border villages, leading to widespread panic and chaos among local residents. Indian security forces have responded strongly to the ceasefire violation, and intense exchange of fire is currently underway in several sectors.
Authorities have launched emergency evacuation operations in the affected areas. Dozens of families from border villages in the Rajouri and Poonch districts are being shifted to safer shelters as a precautionary measure. Mobile medical teams have also been deployed to provide urgent aid to the injured.
According to defense officials, the Pakistan Army’s actions are a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between the two countries. Senior military officers are closely monitoring the situation, and a high-level security review is currently in progress.
Local eyewitnesses described the scene as terrifying. “We heard loud explosions early in the morning. Within minutes, everything was filled with smoke. People ran to save their lives,” said a resident of a border village near Rajouri.
The Indian Army has vowed a strong and appropriate response to the aggression. “Our troops are retaliating effectively. Civilian safety is our priority,” a senior official stated.
Meanwhile, political leaders have expressed grief and condemned Pakistan’s actions. Calls for a firm diplomatic and military response have started surfacing across the country.
The Ministry of Defence is expected to release an official statement shortly. People are advised to avoid spreading unverified news and to rely only on government or official sources for updates.
This incident has once again brought focus to the fragile peace along the LoC, where despite agreements, border violations continue to claim innocent lives. The situation remains tense, and security forces are on high alert to prevent further escalation.
As the conflict unfolds, the nation mourns the loss of innocent lives and hopes for the safe return of all affected families to their homes.
