Tripura Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte has conducted review meetings ahead of the counting of votes. The meetings were held in the presence of state Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan, Additional DGP Saurabh Tripathi, and other senior officers.

The officials discussed following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India to ensure a smooth completion of the counting process. They also mentioned that meetings with political parties, candidates, and election agents shall be held by the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, and Returning Officers.

Additionally, adequate measures shall be taken to maintain law and order before and after the counting process. It is also expected that Counting Observers will be deputed by the Election Commission of India starting from February 28.

It is important to ensure that the counting of votes is conducted transparently and accurately to uphold the integrity of the democratic process. It is encouraging to see a high voter turnout in Tripura’s Assembly polls, which reflects the citizens’ interest and participation in the electoral process.

Notably, the counting of votes of 60 assembly constituencies shall be held in 21 counting locations across the State on March 2.
Tripura recorded an 81.10 per cent voter turnout in Assembly polls on February 16. The Polling was held in a total of 3,337 polling stations.
