India – The Southwest Monsoon has made significant progress in multiple states, with light and heavy rains observed in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Odisha. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), as of June 23, the monsoon has further advanced into Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Northwest Bay of Bengal, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh.

Southwest Monsoon has reached Malkangiri, Koraput, and Gajapati districts, with further advancement expected in the next two days. The IMD predicts fairly widespread to widespread rain and thundershowers across the state during this period. Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Puri, Ganjam, and Kandhamal are expected to witness heavy rainfall, while thunderstorms and lightning are likely in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. Bhubaneswar has already experienced pre-monsoon showers during the day.

The recent rain brought relief from high temperatures, lowering them below 35 degrees Celsius.
