Successful Joint Operation: 115,000 Immature Ganja Plants Eradicated in Tripura

In a collaborative effort to combat illegal cultivation and trade of ganja, law enforcement agencies executed a successful operation on December 19, 2023. A joint team comprising Sepahijala district Police, TSR (Tripura State Rifles) contingent from 7th, 9th, 11th, and 15th Battalions, Excise Department, NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau), 150 Bn BSF (Border Security Force), and CRPF 140 Bn conducted a targeted Ganja destruction drive.

Approximately 115,000 immature Ganja plants, spanning 57.5 acres of forest lands across multiple locations, were swiftly destroyed during the operation. The coordinated efforts of the various security forces demonstrated the commitment to curbing the illicit cultivation of narcotics in the region.

The operation was led by officers from different agencies, and their synchronized actions resulted in the effective eradication of the illegal crops.
