Thailand’s Ambassador Meets Minister in Assam, Emphasis on Border Trade

Pattarat Hontong, Ambassador of Thailand to India called on Industries Minister Bimal Bora at Janata Bhavan. The ambassador arrived at the meeting with a delegation. The Ambassador was accompanied by Chayanin Sriwiseth First Secretary (Economics), Thanchanok Uthaiwan Second Secretary (Political), Vipawi Rangsimaporn and other dignitaries from the business community of Thailand. The Ambassador and other dignitaries discussed various issues related to trade and potential areas of business. Thai Envoy Secretary Industries Dr. Lakshmanan S. Commissioner Oinam Saran, entrepreneur Abhijit Barua and other government officials were present in the meeting. Industries Secretary Lakshmanan briefed the foreign delegation about the business and business prospects in Assam. He also spoke about the almost completed Jogighopa Logistics Park and Act East Policy. A statement said that he has emphasized on border trade between neighboring countries of Southeast Asia.
