Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sushmita Dev voices concerns about the apparent confusion within the Congress party, asserting that effective election campaigns require clarity.

Congress in Disarray, Influenced by BJP

Senior TMC leader Sushmita Dev expressed her reservations regarding the “state of confusion” within the Congress party, suggesting that this uncertainty hinders the party’s ability to effectively contest elections. Briefing the media, Dev noted that the Congress party appears to be in disarray and is seemingly being influenced by the BJP.

Dev highlighted TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s explicit instructions to party members, urging them to contest elections independently. She emphasized that TMC remains committed to the INDIA alliance, stating that if the party secures 40 MPs in the Lok Sabha, they will align with the INDIA alliance to form a government.

Positioning TMC as a viable alternative to challenge the BJP’s dominance in Assam, Dev reinforced Mamata Banerjee’s assertion that the party will collaborate with the INDIA alliance to represent the interests of the people.

Dev criticized Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah for his “ambiguous stance” on TMC, suggesting a lack of clarity within the Congress party’s leadership in the state.

Disclosing TMC’s election strategy, Dev revealed that leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would be fielded to contest Lok Sabha seats in Assam. This move reaffirms TMC’s dedication to representing the interests of the people of Assam and establishing a formidable presence in the upcoming elections.
