A 23-year-old blogger from Tripura has been missing for the past eight days after he travelled to Nagaland, triggering anxiety and distress among his family members.

The missing youth has been identified as Pranab Das, a resident of Malaynagar Nepali Para under the jurisdiction of Srinagar Police Station. According to family members, Das frequently travelled to different locations to record video footage, which he later uploaded on his personal blog.

Last Contact on January 3

Relatives said Pranab Das left home earlier this month to collect video content in Nagaland. After reaching his destination, he contacted his parents and informed them about his arrival. That phone call was the last time the family heard from him.

Since January 3, Das’ mobile phone has remained switched off. Repeated attempts by family members to contact him have failed. Despite reaching out to relatives, friends, and acquaintances, the family has not received any information about his whereabouts.

Missing Diary Filed, Family Alleges Inaction

Following the prolonged silence, Das’ family lodged a missing diary at Srinagar Police Station. However, they alleged that the police response has been slow and ineffective. His father claimed that despite visiting the police station several times, the family did not receive adequate cooperation.

“We are running from pillar to post, but no concrete effort is visible. We only want our son back,” his father said, expressing frustration and helplessness.

Police Say Search Efforts Underway

A police official, speaking to this reporter, said that steps have been initiated to trace the missing blogger. The official did not disclose specific details but assured that the matter is being taken seriously and necessary measures are in progress.

Authorities are expected to coordinate with police in Nagaland as part of the search operation.

Parents Appeal to CM and MLA

Overwhelmed with anxiety, Das’ parents have now appealed to the state’s Chief Minister and the local MLA for urgent intervention. They urged the administration to intensify efforts and ensure coordination between states to locate their son.

“Our only demand is that the authorities take active steps to find him and bring an end to this unbearable uncertainty,” the family said.

The incident has raised concerns over the safety of independent content creators who often travel alone to remote areas for work. Family members and local residents have called for stronger mechanisms to ensure timely police response in missing-person cases.
