CM Raises Border Security Concerns
Chief Minister Manik Saha said several vulnerable and unfenced stretches along the India-Bangladesh border require immediate attention.
He raised the issue during the 22nd plenary session of the North Eastern Council and stressed the need for stronger border infrastructure.

The Chief Minister said a central inspection team is expected to visit Tripura soon to examine unfenced border stretches.

He said narcotics from Myanmar enter India through Assam and Mizoram before reaching Bangladesh through Tripura routes.
According to Saha, authorities cannot fully control drug trafficking unless they completely seal international borders.
The government has increased anti-narcotics operations and surveillance in border areas in recent months.

To tackle substance abuse, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of eight de-addiction centres in Tripura.

“Track Me” Feature Launched

He claimed Tripura became the first state in India to introduce such a feature for women and elderly citizens travelling alone.
