According to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, the BJP’s success in securing more women’s votes in the state can be attributed to the government’s efforts to empower self-help groups (SHGs) and provide them with financial assistance.

During a recent meeting with senior BJP leaders, the Chief Minister stated that the government’s policies to support SHGs had been instrumental in improving the socio-economic status of women in the state, and this had translated into greater support for the BJP among women voters.

The Chief Minister cited several examples of successful SHGs in the state that had been able to generate income through various initiatives, such as beekeeping, handloom weaving, and food processing. He noted that these initiatives had helped to create employment opportunities for women and had improved their standard of living.

The Chief Minister also praised the efforts of various government departments and agencies in providing financial assistance to SHGs and helping them to access markets for their products. He noted that these initiatives had not only empowered women but had also helped to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment in the state.

The Chief Minister’s comments come at a time when the BJP has been making efforts to woo women voters in the state, which has a significant female population. The party has been promoting women’s empowerment and has been highlighting its policies to support women entrepreneurs and SHGs.

The BJP’s efforts seem to have paid off, as the party has been able to increase its vote share among women in the state. According to a recent survey, the BJP secured 46% of women’s votes in the 2018 assembly elections, up from just 5% in the previous elections in 2013.

The success of the BJP’s outreach to women voters in Tripura is a positive development for the party, which has been trying to expand its base in the northeastern region of the country. The party has been making significant inroads in the region in recent years, winning several state elections and increasing its presence in the region.

The Chief Minister’s comments highlight the importance of empowering women through SHGs and providing them with financial assistance. The government’s efforts in this regard have not only improved the socio-economic status of women in the state but have also helped to increase the BJP’s support among women voters. The success of the BJP’s outreach to women voters in Tripura is a positive sign for the party’s expansion in the northeastern region of the country.
