Education is the path that leads people from ignorance to knowledge and builds inner strength, said Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while addressing the Chief Minister’s Annual State Award for Academic Excellence ceremony at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan today.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s continuous efforts to strengthen the education system in Tripura. He said that through several initiatives, the government has been able to improve infrastructure and create opportunities for students to pursue higher education within the state itself.
Education as a Tool for Success
Speaking to students, Dr. Saha stressed the importance of dreaming big and working hard to achieve goals. “Success comes only through patience, dedication, hard work, and true education,” he said, motivating students to focus on self-belief as the foundation of growth.
He also underlined that the award is not only about academic achievements but also about shaping responsible and compassionate human beings. “Education is not limited to textbooks. Its real meaning lies in standing beside others in times of need,” the Chief Minister said.
Youth as the Nation’s Strength
The Chief Minister referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, noting that India’s youth are the country’s greatest strength. He added that proper planning and genuine education are essential to harness their talents for national development. “Our children have no shortage of talent. What they need is guidance and the right platform. The state government is committed to providing that,” he remarked.
Recognition of Excellence
This year, a total of 228 students from government, government-aided, and Vidyajyoti schools were selected for the prestigious award. These students, who excelled in Class X and XII examinations, will receive tablets as a recognition of their academic performance.
At the ceremony, the Chief Minister symbolically presented tablets and certificates to five students on stage, inspiring the rest of the awardees.

The event was also attended by Education Department Director N. C. Sharma, Special Secretary of Education Ravel Hemendra Kumar, and Director of SCERT L. Darlong, among other dignitaries.
