Birjit Sinha, the President of Pradesh Congress and MLA, has raised allegations against the nine-year tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming a lack of development in Tripura. Sinha stated that the people of Tripura have only experienced deprivation during this period, while flex campaigns featuring the Prime Minister’s face have dominated the landscape. In response, the Congress party plans to launch a campaign highlighting nine questions that emphasize the grievances of the people against the upcoming celebrations marking nine years of Modi’s rule.

During a press conference held at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, Sinha expressed his concerns about the lack of development in Tripura during the Prime Minister’s tenure. He highlighted that under the Congress government at the Centre, the people of Tripura used to receive social allowances, but since the establishment of the Modi government, such allowances have been discontinued for 48 thousand individuals during Biplab Kumar Deb’s regime.

Sinha further criticized the Modi government, stating that despite the existence of job vacancies, the unemployed youth of Tripura are not being provided with employment opportunities. He claimed that the government has no satisfactory response when questioned about the absence of job creation. Additionally, Sinha disputed the government’s claims about the expansion of national highways and railways, asserting that such information is misleading. He pointed out that railway services, national highways, MBB Airport, and Kailasahar Airport were constructed during the Congress rule, but the negligence of the present government has resulted in the closure of the Kailashahar Airport.

According to Sinha, the nine-year rule of Prime Minister Modi has primarily relied on flex and media campaigns for promotion, without any substantial new development projects implemented in Tripura. The Pradesh Congress President emphasized the need for genuine progress and criticized the perceived lack of tangible achievements during the current government’s tenure.
