According to a senior government official, the Tripura government has established a separate organization for electricity transmission in the state to reduce the power sector’s total technical and commercial losses.
83 operational power sub-stations and 1,861 km of transmission lines will be managed by the new organization Tripura State Power Transmission Limited in the state.
State Power Secretary Brijesh Pandey said to the Press Trust of India Limited that Tripura State Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) was established this month for electricity transmission.
A commission established by the Union Ministry of Power has suggested placing the 33 KV system under a state transmission utility. The chairman and managing director-led committee proposed actions to reduce losses in the sub-transmission system and to guarantee stability and effective operation in Tripura.
