Piyamadhuri Majumder, TPS Grade-I, has been appointed SP (Vigilance). Similarly, Kisan Kumar, TPS Grade-I, has taken charge as SP (State Crime Records Bureau – SCRB).
These appointments strengthen specialised wings responsible for vigilance, crime records, financial investigations, and cyber-related offences.
Changes Across District Police and TSR
Besides senior appointments, the government has introduced several changes in district policing.
New postings have been made for the Superintendent of Police, Gomati, along with Additional SPs in North Tripura, Unakoti, Sepahijala, Gomati, Traffic, and SCRB.
Furthermore, the reshuffle includes transfers of Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) serving in Khowai, Kumarghat, Sonamura, Kamalpur, Kanchanpur, Sadar, and several other subdivisions.
The order also transfers numerous Assistant Commandants across different battalions of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR).
Focus on Specialised Policing
The latest transfers place renewed emphasis on specialised policing units.
The government has strengthened departments dealing with Cyber Crime, Vigilance, Anti-Narcotics, Serious Crime, Economic Offences, and the Special Branch by assigning experienced officers to these divisions.
