Tripura Human Rights Commission has Received 110 Complaints Since 2016

Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) chairman Justice (retd) S. C. Das said that since 2016 till now the commission has received 110 complaints.

Das told a press conference on Thursday that out of 110 registered complaints of human rights violations, 90 have been disposed of, while 20 complaints are pending.

He said, “In most of the cases, the state rights body took suo motu cognizance on the basis of media reports and other sources. In most cases, the state government acted on the recommendations of the THRC.

He claimed, “Till November 30 this year, a total of 67 cases were registered with the empowered body. Their number was high because of the awareness program run by the civic body.

THRC was established in 2016.
