Tripura is preparing for a major boost in rural development. The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has introduced a ₹105-crore package to promote entrepreneurship in villages. The move aims to shift rural families from short-term support to long-lasting economic stability.

Focus on Sustainable Community Growth

At a training programme in Agartala, held with The Nudge Institute, TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, highlighted the mission’s new approach. He said TRLM now aims to build strong and self-reliant communities. He also noted that the schemes will help families develop skills, access markets and adopt digital tools. This, he added, will support long-term economic progress.

Project TRIPTI Expands Its Reach

Under the flagship Project TRIPTI, more than 4,000 households in Ambassa, Ganganagar and Dasda blocks have received support. They were given business assets, financial assistance and market linkages. Many families are now starting small enterprises and expanding their income sources.

The CM Nabadisha Abhiyan, launched recently by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, is widening the mission’s coverage. It targets tribal, Scheduled Caste and other vulnerable families. The upcoming Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana will further extend these benefits to remote communities.

Women Prepare for Saras Mela

Preparations are underway for the Saras Mela scheduled for mid-December. Thousands of Self-Help Group (SHG) women will take part in the event. They will showcase handicrafts, homemade food items and other rural products. The mela highlights the rising role of rural women in Tripura’s economy. Their increased participation has brought stability to many families.

Credit Push Through Samriddhi 2.0

TRLM has also launched Samriddhi 2.0. It aims to approve loans worth ₹181 crore within 40 days. This effort follows the success of Samriddhi 1.0, which provided ₹198 crore in credit to SHG members. With the new campaign, rural entrepreneurs will gain faster access to capital.

Officials said the initiative will strengthen cash flow for small businesses. It will also improve banking links and speed up financial services. More families will be able to start or expand their livelihoods.

Tripura’s Rural Model Gains Recognition

According to officials, Tripura’s integrated development model is attracting attention. The state now combines credit support, skills training, enterprise growth and digital tools under one system. This model is helping families create steady income. It is also turning villages into active economic hubs.

As these new schemes move forward, the government expects stronger community networks and more local markets. Rural homes are shifting from dependency to opportunity. With continued support, Tripura is emerging as a leader in rural innovation.
