Reaffirming Tripura’s commitment to inclusive development, Power, Agriculture, and Farmers’ tribal Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday declared that welfare delivery in the state is entirely free from political bias. Although, it seems true.

He was speaking at a public gathering held under the “Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh – Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan” at the Lefunga R.D. Block in West Tripura district.

Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Celebrated with Enthusiasm

The event was part of a national campaign honouring tribal leaders and promoting tribal empowerment. Tripura has actively participated in the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, launched by the central government to celebrate tribal heritage. However, increase tribal representation in policymaking.

Hundreds of residents gathered at Lefunga to witness the cultural performances and speeches focused on tribal welfare.

Tribal Welfare Delivery Without Political Discrimination

Ratan Lal Nath assured the crowd that every eligible citizen, irrespective of political affiliation, is receiving the benefits of welfare schemes.

“There is no political colour in our delivery system,” Nath stated. “Every citizen is entitled to benefit from government schemes. Moreover, that principle is strictly followed across departments.”

This was echoed by local panchayat leaders, who reported smooth rollout of ration, pension, and housing schemes in tribal hamlets.

Emphasis on Tribal Upliftment

Nath noted that the state government has prioritised education, healthcare, and employment generation in tribal regions.

He cited progress in constructing tribal hostels, promoting bamboo-based industries, and increasing agricultural assistance under various schemes.

“Tripura’s tribal youth must become leaders in tomorrow’s economy. Also, we are committed to building skills and supporting entrepreneurship,” the minister said.

New Projects Announced for Lefunga

During the event, Nath announced several new projects for Lefunga block, including:

  • Expansion of rural electrification coverage
  • Setting up of a model anganwadi centre
  • Irrigation canal improvement
  • Farmer training workshops in sustainable agriculture

These projects are expected to generate local employment and strengthen tribal livelihoods.

Local Response Encouraging Tribal Welfare

Villagers welcomed the announcements and called for consistent follow-through.

“We appreciate the government’s attention. Further, but implementation should be timely,” said Debashree Tripura, a schoolteacher attending the event.

Also, community elders praised the focus on cultural heritage and called for continued support in preserving tribal languages and customs.

Strong Push for Central-State Collaboration

Also, Nath highlighted that the success of tribal initiatives in Tripura has been possible due to close coordination with the central government.

Under schemes such as PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) and Eklavya Model Residential Schools, several remote tribal villages have received direct benefits.

The minister urged local leaders to assist in identifying beneficiaries transparently and monitoring project implementation.

Political Unity Urged

While stating that the current government works beyond party lines, Nath subtly urged opposition leaders to support public welfare projects.

“We may differ politically, but welfare has to be united in vision. Also, let’s uplift the most vulnerable together,” he said.

Tripura’s tribal regions are at the heart of the state’s development policy. Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s assurance of unbiased welfare delivery and focused tribal upliftment reinforces that commitment.

Lastly, as Tripura enters a new phase of rural transformation. Nevertheless, inclusive governance remains central to its agenda.
