“The Killer,” a short film created in Tripura, has achieved yet another milestone by being selected for screening at the Kaduna International Film Festival. Directed and produced by Aditya Modak, a talented filmmaker and author from Tripura, the film has gained recognition in various film festivals, including the Northeast Film Festival in Mumbai and the Barak International Film Festival in Silchar. This selection marks the film’s first international screening in the African continent.

Aditya Modak, the director and producer of “The Killer,” recently announced that the film has been chosen to be screened at the Kaduna International Film Festival in Nigeria. The festival is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 26, and “The Killer” has been nominated for the Best Experimental Film category. This selection makes it the first film from Tripura to be showcased in Africa.

Acknowledging the support he has received throughout his journey, Aditya expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported him in a social media post. The young filmmaker’s passion and dedication have earned him recognition, including the Bronze Best Director award at the Northeast Film Festival, held at the NFDC Campus in Mumbai.

“The Killer” was among the top 50 films from the Northeast region that were screened at the Northeast Film Festival in 2023. Its selection for the festival in Mumbai and subsequent recognition at the Barak International Film Festival in Silchar have paved the way for its overseas selection at the Kaduna International Film Festival.
