The Department of Sanskrit, Tripura University, in collaboration with the All India Central University Works, inaugurated a two-day workshop on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the MBB Auditorium on Saturday. The programme focuses on creating a roadmap for vibrant and research-intensive central universities.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The workshop is being presided over by Prof. Shaymal Das, Vice Chancellor of Tripura University.
Kishore Barman, representing the Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Tripura, joined the programme as the Guest of Honour. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Rajsharan Shahi, Dean of the School of Education at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), a Central University.
The workshop has been convened by Prof. Debraj Panigrahi, Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Tripura University. It has brought together academic experts, policymakers, and education administrators to discuss the provisions of NEP 2020 and its transformative impact on higher education institutions across the country.
The two-day deliberation will explore practical strategies for implementing NEP 2020 in central universities, with special emphasis on multidisciplinary education, research integration, skill development, and inclusivity. Scholars and participants are expected to exchange insights on how NEP 2020 can reshape the academic framework, making higher education more student-centric and globally competitive.
Tripura University’s initiative in organizing this workshop reflects the institution’s commitment to aligning with the national vision for education reforms. The event is anticipated to provide valuable inputs for fostering innovation and enhancing the quality of higher education in Tripura and beyond.
