These groups have received financial assistance totaling Rs 746 crore, fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance among women.
Chief Minister Saha noted the emergence of “Lakhpati Didis,” women who have achieved significant financial success through SHG activities, as a testament to the program’s impact.
Cooperative Sector and Industrial Employment
Tripura’s cooperative sector has become a significant employment generator, engaging approximately 9 lakh individuals directly or indirectly. Additionally, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation has facilitated the creation of over 1,600 jobs in the state’s industrial areas over the past three years.
Future Outlook
The Tripura government’s multifaceted approach—combining transparent recruitment, skill development, and support for entrepreneurship—has contributed to the state’s impressive reduction in unemployment. As these initiatives continue, Tripura aims to sustain and further improve its employment landscape, setting an example for other regions to follow.
