A three-day training workshop on Jal Jeevan Mission with the residents of Durga Chaumhani Block area was inaugurated at Kamalpur Town Hall by the initiative of Drinking Water Sanitation Department and Gauhati Down Town Trust.
Shampa Das, chairman of Durga Chaumuhani Panchayat Samiti, inaugurated the workshop at the town hall at eleven o’clock on Monday. Kaushik Das, executive officer of the drinking water sanitation department, BAC chairman Debprasad Debbarma, Sunil Debbarma, sub-divisional officer of the department were present. On this day, 115 residents of the block area were trained on Jal Jeevan Mission.
The workshop mainly discussed how to save drinking water, supply water through pipe lines, repair of pipe lines, how to save treated drinking water and provide services to people. The workshop will continue till March 29. The same workshop will be held from April 3 to April 5 at Salema Town Hall with 84 beneficiaries under Salema Block, said the entrepreneurs.
