The union has announced the initiative ahead of the memorial programme at Zubeen Khetra in Sonapur. Members of the Assam Commercial Drivers’ Association and registered drivers will run the cab service as a tribute to the late singer and cultural icon.
The initiative will help mourners and visitors reach the venue at a lower travel cost. It will also give people another transport option as Assam prepares for programmes marking the first death anniversary of Zubeen Garg.
