Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday launched the Orunodoi 2.0 scheme from Assam House in the capital. During this, the CM said that 10.50 lakh new beneficiaries will be added to this scheme.
The target of the government is to add 35 lakh women in this scheme. Significantly, under this scheme, women are given Rs 1250 per month through DBT. Sarma said that 17 lakh women were covered in the first phase of the scheme. With the addition of one million beneficiaries in its second phase, it will become the biggest DBT scheme of the state so far. He said that due to this scheme the families had got great relief during the Corona period. The aim of the government is to bring a positive change in the standard of living of the people through such a scheme.
