Assam Rifles Recovers Tactical War-Like Stores in Mizoram, 4 Arrested

The Lunglei Battalion of the Inspector General, Assam Rifles East, on October 30, conducted a tactical and operational operation near Tuipang village in Siaha district of Mizoram. Four people were arrested after recovering a large cache of war-like stores.

A joint operation conducted by the Assam Rifles and the Siaha Police involved a large number of tactical and war-like stores such as one shotgun, 12 gauge (12 gauge), 169 gelatin sticks and 1500 shrapnel were recovered.

The stores recovered were of military grade, which were reportedly used by insurgents based in Myanmar. The seized goods have been handed over to the Siaha Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Lt Col AS Walia said, “This operation is a big blow to all anti-national activities. The success of the operation will go a long way in establishing peace and harmony along the Indo-Myanmar border.”
