Local people have blocked the road in Navaram Para ADC village under Jolaibari assembly constituency in South Tripura district demanding drinking water. Later, the blockade was lifted with the intervention of officials of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department and the OC of Deodaru Outpost. It is claimed that there is a political conspiracy behind the blockade.
Incidentally, the Tripura government has installed new water machines in Navram Para. However, the man to operate the machine has not been appointed yet. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation said that the recruitment will be done soon. There is drinking water problem in that area since the left period. Today local people blocked Jolaibari to Kwaifang road demanding drinking water. Hence, daily commuters face some inconvenience. On getting the information, officials of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department and the OC of the Deodaru outpost rushed to the blockade site. The blockade was lifted after they assured the besiegers that the drinking water problem would be resolved soon. Meanwhile, local people claim that former CPM MLA Jasbir Tripura is behind the blockade.
