Chief Minister Manik Saha hailed the significant development of Tripura’s communication system, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives. During the unveiling of a 5-meter tall bronze statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur at MBB Airport in Agartala, Saha emphasized efforts to introduce international flight operations soon.

Historical Tribute: Maharaja Bir Bikram Statue Unveiled

The ceremony marked the installation of a bronze statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, symbolizing the state’s rich heritage and progress. Saha acknowledged the pivotal role of the Manikya dynasty in Tripura’s development and praised Modi’s administration for honoring their legacy.

Formerly known as Singerbil Airport, MBB Airport has undergone extensive modernization, reflecting the commitment to honoring Tripura’s historical figures. Saha highlighted the transformation of the airport, now acclaimed as one of the most attractive in the Northeast, as a testament to Modi’s vision for the state.

Saha lauded Modi’s dedication to Northeast development, citing initiatives like the Act East policy aimed at fostering regional growth. The surge in flight operations from Agartala airport, with approximately 32 flights daily and four thousand passengers, underscores the unprecedented connectivity brought about by Modi’s initiatives.

The installation of the bronze statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram, representing an investment of approximately Rs 35 lakh, signifies the government’s commitment to preserving and honoring Tripura’s rich cultural legacy.
