Heroin worth Rs 8.7 crore was seized in south Mizoram’s Lunglei district and two people were arrested in this connection, police said on Thursday.
Acting on the information received, the District Special Branch (DSB) of Lunglei on Wednesday seized 1.74 kg of narcotic substances from an area near Talwang bridge and Pukpui, he said. He said that two people have been arrested, who are natives of Champhai district. Police said a case has been registered against the accused under the Anti-Drugs Act (NDPS). Two minors were also caught in this operation and they were booked under the Juvenile Justice Act.
