IMD Issues Dense Fog Alert for Northeastern States Until December 31

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised concerns for residents of six Northeastern states, namely Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, as it issued a dense fog alert set to persist until December 31, 2023. The advisory highlights the potential impact on visibility in isolated pockets within these regions, urging caution and preparedness.

While light rain is anticipated in isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, the forecast for the remaining states indicates dry weather conditions. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this period.

Guwahati, a prominent city in the region, is expected to experience drizzle or mist in the morning hours, with mostly clear skies later in the day. This forecast emphasizes the need for commuters to be mindful of changing weather patterns and adjust their schedules accordingly.

The IMD’s prediction for maximum and minimum temperatures in the next 24 hours provides essential information for residents to plan their day effectively. With temperatures likely to reach 26° Celsius as the maximum and 13° Celsius as the minimum, individuals can prepare for the day’s weather fluctuations.

It is crucial for residents, especially those involved in outdoor activities, to stay updated on weather advisories and follow safety guidelines. Dense fog can significantly impact visibility, leading to potential transportation challenges. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and use headlights when necessary.

The IMD’s diligence in forecasting not only dense fog but also specific weather conditions for each state underscores the importance of regional accuracy in weather predictions. As we approach the end of the year, staying informed about local weather forecasts becomes imperative for the well-being and safety of individuals across these Northeastern states.
