Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted that senior judge Justice TA Goud has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court with effect from February 23, 2023. I wish them all the best.

Justice TA Goud has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court. Justice Goud will assume his new responsibility from February 23.

On February 12, days before his retirement, Justice Jaswant Singh, senior-most judge of the Orissa High Court, was appointed as the chief justice of the Tripura High Court. Justice Jaswant Singh is due to retire on Wednesday. While Supreme Court judges retire on attaining the age of 65, HC judges retire at 62.

About Justice TA Goud (Indian Judge of Tripura High Court)

Justice Goud is the senior-most puisne judge of Tripura High Court. Todupunuri Amarnath Goud (born 1 March 1965) is an Indian Judge of Tripura High Court. He is former Judge of Telangana High Court. Justice Goud was made the Acting Chief Justice in November last year too.

Notification Issued By Union Law Ministry

“In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Todupunuri Amarnath Goud (PHC: Telangana), senior most puisne Judge of Tripura High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 23.02.2023 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Jaswant Singh, Chief Justice of Tripura High Court,” the notification issued by the Union Law Ministry said.
