The Hill state People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), oldest regional party of Meghalaya, has expressed the demand of separate Khasi-Jaintia state as the current motto or issue of the party.
While speaking to the media, the president of HSPDP K. Phlastingwell Pangniang, mentioned the main ideology of the party is to demand a separate Khasi-Jaintia state. The election manifesto of the party will release in October. The election manifesto of the party will release in October.
Pangniang said that there are more than 22-23 pending demands for the creation of separate states in the country.
Further, the HSPDP President added, “We will not compromise at any cost as this is the visionary issue for the sake of the larger interest, the special status of Khasi-pnar of the state…so that this issue will always be in the heart and manifesto of the party”.
The oldest regional party raised the demand for separate Khasi-Jaintia state citing article 371.
The party is raising the demand for separate Khasi-Jaintia state from Last 54 years.
“(We still hope that) one day the government of India will give a positive response to the demands as it is a constitutional demand and not a wish of the people,” the HSPDP chief mentioned
