Addressing students, volunteers, and members of the Red Cross Society, Governor Ganesan stressed that the principles of the Red Cross—humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality—should be upheld in every act of service. He encouraged the young generation to carry these values into their daily lives and become strong pillars of support for society.
The Governor also praised the role of the Red Cross in disaster response, healthcare, and blood donation drives. He said the organization has made a positive impact across the globe, and its presence in Nagaland is equally vital, especially in times of emergencies and public health challenges.
During the event, several youth volunteers were felicitated for their dedication and service. A pledge was taken by the participants to uphold the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross. School and college students also presented songs, short plays, and speeches based on themes of kindness and community service.
Dr. N. Bendang Jamir, Honorary Secretary of IRCS Nagaland, also addressed the gathering. He spoke about the ongoing projects and future goals of the Red Cross in the state, with a focus on spreading awareness, increasing membership, and improving emergency response capacity in rural areas.
Other speakers and guests at the event highlighted the need for greater public participation in humanitarian work and called for more collaboration between schools, NGOs, and the Red Cross.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed call to action, encouraging every citizen, especially the youth, to be ambassadors of hope, compassion, and peace.
