Tripura, a northeastern state, is witnessing a significant voter turnout in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections conducted on Friday (April 26).

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Tripura recorded a 68.32% voter turnout until 3 pm.

The Tripura East constituency, reserved for scheduled tribes (ST), was the focal point of this phase of the elections.

The electoral battle in Tripura East features BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma and INDIA bloc candidate and CPI-M leader Rajendra Reang.

Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency encompasses all assembly segments of the Dhalai, North, Unakoti, and Khowai districts. Additionally, it includes four assembly constituencies of South Tripura and three assembly constituencies in Gomati district.

With a substantial voter turnout recorded by midday, the electoral process in Tripura East reflects the active participation and engagement of the electorate.
