Police and Narcotics Department Team Rescued 140 Exotic Animals and Birds, Suspected of Smuggling From Myanmar


The team of Champai Police and Champai Excise and Narcotics Department of Mizoram has rescued 140 exotic animals and birds by jointly campaigning on Saturday. It is suspected that they were being brought from Myanmar for smuggling. These have been handed over to the Superintendent of Customs Preventive Force, Champai for further action. Police gave this information.

According to the police, the team has found 30 turtles, 2 monkeys, 2 marmoset monkeys, 22 pythons, 18 Sumantran water monitors, 55 crocodiles, 4 flame bower birds, 4 cats etc.
