Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, royal scion and chairman of the Tipra Motha party, met several leaders of the Darlong community at Ujjayanta Palace on Saturday. During the meeting, he engaged in meaningful discussions and expressed his strong commitment to the welfare of the community.

Speaking after the interaction, Debbarma highlighted the importance of the Darlong people in Tripura’s socio-cultural fabric. He assured the leaders that their voices and concerns will continue to receive his attention.

“I had a deep interaction with many Darlong leaders at the palace today. I will be visiting their villages soon to express my solidarity with my Darlong brothers and sisters. You may be small in numbers, but you are very important to me and remain close to my heart,” Debbarma said.

The Darlong community, recognized as a small but significant tribal group in Tripura, has been an integral part of the state’s identity. Debbarma’s assurance of support has been welcomed by community representatives, who see his outreach as a sign of greater inclusion in the political and cultural discourse of the state.

Known for his vocal advocacy of tribal rights and self-determination, Debbarma has consistently emphasized the need to protect the identity and heritage of Tripura’s indigenous communities. His visit to the Darlong villages, expected in the coming days, is aimed at further strengthening ties and addressing issues faced by the community.

The meeting underlines his broader vision of unity among all indigenous groups of Tripura, reinforcing his message that no community is too small to be overlooked in the state’s future.
