Tripura, Ganda Twisa: In a shocking turn of events, Section 163 BNSS 2023 (144 Cr.P.C) has been imposed in Ganda Twisa as communal tension rises following the tragic death of Parameshwar Reang, a young Tiprasa man. Parameshwar, son of an SZD officer, succumbed to his injuries at GB Hospital on July 12th, 2024, after being brutally assaulted on the night of July 7th at Ananda Mela in Gandacherra.
The incident that has sent shockwaves through the community began with an altercation involving a mentally ill patient and several individuals from the Bengali community. According to reports, the mentally ill patient, who is Parameshwar Reang’s neighbor, was being thrashed by assailants over a road rage incident. Parameshwar, in an attempt to intervene and protect his neighbor, became the target of the attackers’ rage.
What followed was a horrifying scene as a mob of over 30+ people allegedly turned their fury towards Parameshwar. Eyewitnesses and the victim’s father report that Parameshwar was not only beaten with rods but also electrocuted during the attack. The brutality of the assault has left the community in shock and mourning.
The violent incident has sparked widespread condemnation and a united call for justice for Parameshwar Reang. Outraged and saddened by the senseless act of violence, community leaders, activists, and citizens are demanding that the culprits be brought to justice swiftly and punished severely to prevent such heinous crimes in the future.
“We are deeply saddened and outraged by the brutal murder of Parameshwar Reang by a group of miscreants. This senseless act of violence is utterly unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms,” said a local activist. “Justice must be served. The culprits responsible for this heinous crime must be brought to justice and punished in an exemplary manner to ensure such atrocities do not happen again.”
The imposition of Section 163 BNSS 2023 (144 Cr.P.C) in Ganda Twisa is a preventive measure aimed at maintaining peace and order in the wake of the incident. Authorities are urging the community to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement as investigations continue.
