Debbarman, chief of Tipra Motha, said his party was not getting support from big corporate houses like BJP, Congress and CPI(M). Hence, Tipra Motha is crowdfunding its campaign without any alliance with national parties. Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has announced that his party Tipra Motha will collect funds to contest the upcoming Tripura Assembly elections through crowdfunding.
The party is contesting 42 out of 60 seats and aims to be the potential kingmaker. Debbarman said, his party is not getting support from big corporate houses like BJP, Congress and CPI(M).
Hence, Tipra Motha is crowdfunding its campaign without any alliance with national parties. The party has opened a bank account to collect donations from people. Debbarman also highlighted that the party is committed to transparency and wants to show the public where its funds are coming from.
He urged people to donate and support the party’s effort to win the elections. He said that with the use of crowdfunding, Tipra Motha hopes to run a campaign that is free from outside influence and truly representative of the people of Tripura. It is noteworthy that the voting for the assembly elections will be held on 16th and the results will be declared on 2nd March.
He said that TIPRA Motha is a small party that believes in transparency to change the system of politics. The party had earlier held meetings with the Bhartiya Janata Party to discuss a possible alliance between the two, but it turned out to be a failure. CPIM and Congress had also approached Barman to join the current opposition parties in the coming elections which did not work out as well.
Party Leader Opinion
The party leader also said,” There cannot be any compromise on the demand. We went to Delhi and listened to what they had to say, had we not gone they would have said we did not go despite being invited. They have not given anything in writing. I want to say there will be no alliance in this election. We will fight this election and fight to defeat those who are against our demand.”
