The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) announced the results for the Secondary (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations on April 30, 2025, bringing joy and relief to thousands of students and their families across the state. This year, the state recorded a significant improvement in both exams, with the Secondary exam achieving a pass percentage of 86.53% and the Higher Secondary exam clocking 79.29%.
South Tripura and Sepahijala districts emerged as the top performers in both categories. Students from these districts displayed consistent academic excellence, outshining others in the overall performance charts. Education officials praised the efforts of teachers, school management, and district administrators for their role in guiding students toward better results.
Tripura Board officials released the results during a press conference held in Agartala, where Board President Dr. Bhabatosh Saha appreciated the discipline shown by students and the resilience of teachers who continued academic support despite infrastructural and logistical challenges. He stated that the Board made significant efforts to streamline the evaluation process and ensure timely results.
The announcement created a celebratory atmosphere in schools across South Tripura and Sepahijala, where students, parents, and teachers gathered to check the results and congratulate toppers. School premises in these districts turned festive, with successful students receiving floral garlands and sweets. Principals and teachers expressed pride in their students’ hard work, attributing success to structured guidance, regular mock tests, and parental cooperation.
The overall performance also reflects the state’s growing emphasis on strengthening public education. The Tripura Education Department has actively implemented new learning models, digital classroom initiatives, and teacher training programs, which appear to have yielded positive results. Officials confirmed that these measures have helped bridge learning gaps and improve classroom engagement.
Board authorities revealed that around 38,000 students appeared for the Class 10 exams, while nearly 28,000 students sat for the Class 12 assessments. Of the successful candidates, a noticeable improvement was seen in the science and humanities streams, while commerce students also posted consistent results. Among schools, government-aided and private institutions displayed competitive performances.
Girls outperformed boys in both examinations. In the Secondary category, girls achieved a pass percentage of 88.7%, while boys followed closely with 84.3%. A similar trend was seen in the Higher Secondary results, with girls securing 81.6% and boys achieving 76.4%. Officials said that focused efforts to promote girls’ education across rural regions played a significant role in this achievement.
Several meritorious students expressed their gratitude to their teachers and families. Many said they would pursue careers in medicine, engineering, teaching, and public administration. Motivated by their performance, students from underprivileged backgrounds said they hoped to break social barriers through higher education and professional success.
The Board provided students access to results through official websites, SMS services, and local notice boards. Education helplines and counseling centers remained active throughout the day to assist students with career guidance and subject selection for higher education.
The Board plans to hold felicitation ceremonies for toppers from each district and will provide scholarships to students from economically weaker sections who have excelled. Government officials emphasized that recognition and financial aid would continue to be extended to deserving students.
TBSE has also announced a detailed review process for those students who are dissatisfied with their marks. Applications for re-evaluation and supplementary exams will open on May 5, giving students another opportunity to improve their academic record.
As Tripura celebrates academic success, the state government reaffirmed its commitment to improving education infrastructure and encouraging student competitiveness. The results serve as a testament to the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, and education authorities in building a robust academic ecosystem.
